Medalah Foundation for Development held a project proposal writing course presented by trainer and consultant Walid Al Hamri for a group of trainees working in various local NGOs and consultants working with non-profit organizations.
The course covered a set of important topics such as preparing a cover page in a professional manner, and formulating a project summary and presenting it in an inspiring manner to funders.
This includes preparing a brief about the institution, assessing the project needs and clarifying the justifications for implementation.
The project objectives must also be set according to the SMART methodology, identifying the target group, and using the logical framework to determine the project components. This includes designing activities, choosing the project location, preparing an accurate budget, and risk management strategies. Finally, designing a monitoring and evaluation plan (MEAL) and focusing on project sustainability.
This course comes within the framework of developing various capabilities and working to improve project design.
