Aden, Yemen:

Medad Printing and Advertising Center, within the "Umbrellas Communities" project, organized an awareness session entitled "Printing Market" for the design community in Yemen. The session was held on December 17, 2023. The session was presented by Mr. Mohammed Abdulsalam, Director of Medad Center, where he focused on introducing designers to the behind-the-scenes of the world of printing and the subsequent stages in the design journey until it reaches the final result.

Importance of the session:

The session aimed to:

• Raise awareness among designers about the requirements of the printing market: This included defining basic printing terms, understanding different printing specifications, and ensuring the quality of designs before printing.
• Equip designers with the skills necessary to deal with printing presses: This included learning how to communicate effectively with presses, submit design files correctly, anticipate potential problems, and solve them.
• Support entrepreneurs from designers: Mr. Abdulsalam provided valuable tips on how to market design services and start their own businesses in the printing field.

Active participation:

The session witnessed active participation from the design community, as participants raised many questions about various printing-related topics. Mr. Abdulsalam answered all questions clearly and accurately, which impressed the attendees.
